This was created using a flashlight. You tie a string to the bottom of a flashlight and then you attach the end of the string to the ceiling. Send the flashlight in motion, and with a long exposure you the camera will track the light trail produced.

This was vegetable oil on water in a glass dish. You suspend the dish about 12 cm above a colorful photo.
